So, you may have noticed... none of the mittens I make have fingers. They're all fingerless, which, time and time again, my spell check attempts to alert me is not a real word. Whatevs.
Also not a real word.
Anyway, in this latest design, I have stepped firmly out of my comfort zone and made a pair of mittens (drum roll?) that cover the entire hand. Shocking, yes. And, I like them so much, they get a name, which I only dole out to knits I want to make more of. They've officially been dubbed the Sweetgum Mittens, after the trees in my backyard.
I think they're cute as all get-out, but do people actually wear mittens? In Virginia, it's never THAT cold, and I'm always doing something with my hands, so full mittens have always seemed a bit impractical to me. But, again, they're adorable. So I want to make more. I've put them in my Etsy shop to test the waters. So what's the verdict -- stick to fingerless (there's that pesky spell check again) or venture further into the world of full mittens?
